Ok, so even though I was the one who initiated this, and haven't even posted yet, its time for the wonderful Videl to make her appearance. And...here I am.
See, I thought at first this could increase the popularity with us mods and ya'll normal folk. I mean, everyone loves blogs right? Everyone loves Videl and her posts right? Why not read her blog posts? They're sorta funny, sarcastic...read it in blog form. Sure, I could talk about AN, but theres more to me than just "coolgirl." I...I...I'm cool..I'm a cool girl.
Nonetheless, the real-deal of the ModBlog will be out soon. Like, Fall quarter is ending soon, and of course this is the time of year I rush through all my many weeks of procrastination. I have to fill out a sketchbook, but I never draw, thats the thing. There should be a fancy banner, and all that jazz. We just need people to make it worth while.
Two main things have been on my mind for the past couple of days however. One, the greatness that is "Candy Boy." directed by AIC, its just about the best anime I've seen in a long while, and this is at it being only seven minutes long. I have to admit, I'm a fan of the shoujo-ai (or yuri if you want to get technical), and its nice to see actual good stories with a decent plot, and not crap like Kannazuki or Strawberry Panic. (Yes, I hated both. Sorry, I await the flames, but kiss my ass. They sucked...).
From the descriptions, its been classified as a "school love comedy," and about the relationship between two twin-sisters, Kanade and Yukino Sakurai. I'm not one really for high school dramas, and they tend to bore me unless they hilarious like Azu...or battlerific like Battle Athletes. The series seems to fall along the lines of "two sisters who love each other more than sisters." I'm all for that, but it has to at least make sense. Too many of times I've seen relationships like that fall though by one falling in love with a guy to make it all happy-go-lucky, PC, whatever. This seems like one of those harmless, funny short anime that will keep you wanting to watch the series until its done, and a decent shoujo-ai to boot. The first episode has already gotten many of fans hoping for an actual series. If there is, I'd be all sorts of down for that. Candy Boy truly has the potential to become a successful anime, and a popular one at that.
Two. College...or new video games? Assassin Creed has been taunting me with its sexy main character, and its flashy and evocative landscapes and gameplay. Don't get me wrong, its a beautifully crafted game, but is it really worth spending $60 dollars for? From what I've played, its just been "save so and so from being beaten up by guards" and "get to this hella high spot in the city." I feel as if the fancy flag hunting and view point quests are simply there to do when you get bored killing people. It reminds me much of Jak II and there being nothing to do once you finished an important quest. Giant maps, not one damn thing to do in them. For some reason, reading the glowing flattery in the Assassin Thread makes me not want to buy it even more. Perhaps a rental is in order. If its not all its cracked up to be, I'll just have to be happy with playing Ratchet and Clank through again. I'm still waiting for Brawl, and wondering if Sonic v Mario is all its cracked up to be.
Also, petitioned a Sailor Moon revive in the Q&A topic on AN. I think its about time we started giving Usagi the love she so surely deserves. I mean, she ONLY protects us by fighting in the moonlight. Its the least we could do.
Thats all I can think of for now. I'm pulling an all-nighters tonight trying a poor attempt at drawing so I can get my assignments done. All brain power goes to...charcoal pencils and whatnot.
Keep it black and sassy,

Gamefly is the best for gaming. Saves me a ton with $22 a month as opposed to $60 a pop one or more times a month... Looking forward to your 'Real Deal' Blog post, Videl!
From what I heard Assassins Creed is annoying. You're trying to sneak up on someone and a beggar alerts soldiers. Gametrailers had a few threads complaining about this.
